took aim at Duffy and fellow
blues singer Adele in 2008,
claiming she didn’t understand
why white female singers were
receiving critical acclaim for
performing traditionally
black music.

Two years later,
the Mercy star admits
the remark still hurts,
but she has learned not to
take criticism so personally.
______She tells The Sun,

______Any dig hurts.
______And it does take
______you by surprise.”
“Music is subjective and it’s
important for us to have out
own views –
if we all felt the same about
something we’d be bored.”
